Randolph Frederick Pausch aka Randy Pausch was an American professor at Carnegie Mellon University.
Randy Pausch – Last Lecture
Randy Pausch was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2006, and in 2007 he was given a 3 to 6 months to live.
He gave an awesome speech titled “The Last Lecture: Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams” on September 18, 2007, at Carnegie Mellon, which became a Internet sensation and led to other media appearances. The talk was modeled after an ongoing series of lectures where top academics are asked to think deeply about what matters to them, and then give a final talk.
He co-authored a book called “The Last Lecture” on the same theme, which became a New York Times best-seller.
What is inspiring is the way Randy Pausch delivers his last lecture. For a man who knew he was going to die in 3-6 months this was one funny, inspiring lecture with lots of wisdom and positive motivation. This is one video you want to watch again and again during those time when you feel down and dull.
